Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has donated K17.5 million to Music Crossroads Malawi to support young creatives and strengthen opportunities within the country’s creative industry.
During her visit to the organisation’s academy in Lilongwe, Savage met with students, teachers and young artists, sharing her own journey and encouraging them to pursue their dreams despite the challenges they may face.
She also pledged to collaborate with Music Crossroads through her Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, with plans to establish the foundation in Malawi and expand support for emerging talent, particularly young women pursuing careers in music and the creative arts.
Music Crossroads Malawi said the donation will help maintain existing equipment and acquire additional gear for training.
Savage’s visit came as part of her engagement with the UN Spotlight Initiative, which focuses on ending violence against women and girls in Malawi.
