Nigeria’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George has earned another major milestone on the international stage after winning the Top Model for Africa title at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam.
The Miss World Nigeria 2026 representative emerged as Africa’s Top Model on August 27 during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, held as part of the 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival. The competition carried the theme “Soul of Heritage.”
Karibi-George came out ahead of representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the continental title. Her victory also secured her an automatic place in the Top 40 quarterfinals of Miss World 2026.
The Nigerian beauty queen now joins the other continental Top Model winners representing the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania. The four continental winners earned their places in the Top 40 after standing out during the Top Model competition.
From Miss World Nigeria to the Global Stage
Karibi-George, 26, is a communications professional from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She represented Bayelsa State at the Miss World Nigeria competition, where she was crowned the national winner in June after emerging from a field of 20 finalists.
Beyond pageantry, Karibi-George is known for her advocacy work. She founded Beyond Labels, an initiative focused on inclusion and creating opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs. Her work also includes youth empowerment, climate advocacy and vocational skills development.
Her journey at Miss World 2026 has already included other notable moments, including reaching the African finalists in the Head-to-Head Challenge. She has also attracted attention for her vocal talent during the competition.
Nigeria Advances at Miss World 2026
With her Africa Top Model victory, Karibi-George becomes one of the contestants guaranteed a place in the Miss World Top 40.
The achievement gives Nigeria another opportunity to make an impact at one of the world’s biggest international beauty competitions while highlighting Karibi-George’s combination of modeling, communication and advocacy.
