In a powerful blend of education and empathy, a Virginia high school auto program is changing lives—one car at a time.
In Louisa County, students in a high school automotive program have refurbished over 250 vehicles, gifting more than 60 cars to single mothers in need—providing not just transportation, but stability, opportunity, and relief. What began as an idea from Eddie Brown, a former single father who understood the crushing weight of car troubles, has grown into a community-wide effort involving over 60 local partners. While students master real-world mechanical skills, they’re also learning something far more lasting: how service and compassion can move people forward just as much as horsepower ever could.
