On This Day — 104 Years Ago, the thriving Black community of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known as “Black Wall Street,” was violently attacked and destroyed in one of the worst acts of racial terrorism in U.S. history.
Over 35 blocks were burned to the ground. Hundreds were killed. Thousands were left homeless. And still — it was left out of history books for decades.
We honor the lives lost. We uplift the legacy of Black excellence. And we continue to demand justice, remembrance, and reparations.
