Africa has officially made history on Hollywood Boulevard. ⭐️

Five-time GRAMMY-winning Beninese music icon Angélique Kidjo has become the first African musician and the first Black African artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kidjo was honored with the 2,854th star on August 18, 2026, in the Recording category, recognizing a remarkable career that has spanned more than four decades and helped bring African music, culture and artistry to audiences around the world.

From Benin to the global stage, Kidjo has spent her career crossing borders, blending musical traditions and proving that African voices belong at the center of the world’s biggest cultural conversations.
