Nigeria 🇳🇬 finishes as Africa’s top-performing nation at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, taking home 24 medals: 10 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze, enough for 7th overall on the medal table.
The campaign included several historic performances, including Samuel Ogazi’s first-ever Nigerian Commonwealth gold in the men’s 400m, along with landmark gold medals from Ezekiel Nathaniel and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi.
Powerlifting star Folashade Oluwafemiayo also delivered a standout performance, setting a world record with a 175kg lift.
With 13 African nations winning medals, Nigeria’s performance highlights the continent’s growing presence on the global sporting stage.
