Meet Mme Abomah — the Amazon Giantess.
Once celebrated as the world’s tallest woman in the late 1800s and early 1900s, she became an international sensation who toured across Australia, South America, Europe, and beyond.
Standing between 6’10” and 6’11”, her towering presence made her a global fascination — but her story was more than spectacle. Born Ella Grigsby, she built a life that defied the era’s limitations, traveling the world and commanding stages when very few Black women were allowed such visibility.
Mme Abomah wasn’t just tall — she stood as a symbol of strength, rarity, and resilience in a world that often tried to confine Black women to the shadows. 🌍✨
