Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell — legendary frontman of 2 Live Crew and longtime Miami community advocate — has announced he’s running for Congress in Florida’s 20th District during the 2026 midterm elections.
Best known for shaping Southern hip-hop culture, Campbell has also spent years involved in local activism, youth mentorship, and political commentary. Now, he says he’s ready to take that work to Washington.
The move marks another moment of artists stepping directly into public service — blending culture, community, and policy.
