In a powerful gesture of solidarity, the Government of Ghana has donated 40 metric tons of locally made cocoa-based products—including the popular Golden Tree chocolate—to the people of Palestine. The handover occurred on August 1, 2025, at Jubilee House in Accra, where President John Dramani Mahama emphasized both the symbolic and practical significance of the gift.
Describing cocoa as a core symbol of Ghana’s generosity, President Mahama noted that the products are nutrient-rich—packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and essential minerals—and could provide much-needed comfort and nourishment to families in need. He also reiterated Ghana’s firm support for a two-state solution and urged efforts to open humanitarian corridors into Gaza.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Palestinian people, Ambassador Abdul Fattah Al‑Sattari expressed heartfelt thanks, saying the mere sight—and ultimately the taste—of the chocolate would bring immeasurable joy to those suffering from hunger and hardship.
The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Ghana Cocoa Board, the Cocoa Processing Company, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.
