Florida Plans To End All Childhood Vaccine Mandates, Surgeon General Calls Them “Slavery” — Would Be First State to Do So

BREAKING NEWS Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Abiodun Ladapo announced today that he plans to eliminate all vaccine mandates in the state of Florida, including requirements for schools.

Speaking at a press conference, Ladapo, a Nigerian 🇳🇬 doctor serving as the surgeon general of Florida since 2021, said he intends to remove “all of them — every last one,” calling current mandates “wrong” and saying they “drip with disdain and slavery.”

He emphasized limiting government control, stating:
“Who am I as a government or anyone else, who am I as a man standing here now, to tell you what you should put in your body? Who am I to tell you what your child should put in [their] body? I don’t have that right.”

This announcement follows Governor Ron DeSantis’ creation of the Florida Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission, modeled after the federal MAHA initiative.

According to DeSantis, the Florida MAHA commission will focus on reforms aimed at empowering residents, reducing regulatory burdens, holding institutions accountable, and encouraging healthy living and innovation.
