Emory University in Atlanta Will Now Offer Free Tuition for Students Whose Families Earn Less Than $200,000/yr

👩🏽‍🎓💸 Emory University announced that beginning fall 2026, students from families earning $200,000 or less annually will no longer pay tuition. The new Emory Advantage Plus program will apply to both current and incoming students who meet the income requirements.

Interim President Leah Ward Sears said the goal is to make higher education more accessible:

“Every qualified student should be able to attend Emory without worrying about overwhelming costs or debt. When families sit down to talk about college, money shouldn’t be what holds them back. If a student is accepted and wants to come here, we’ll ensure they can afford it.”

Emory first launched the Emory Advantage program in 2007 to support lower-income students and expanded it in 2022 by removing need-based loans and replacing them with grants. Today, roughly 3,100 students benefit — and that number is expected to grow significantly under this new plan.
