
During the Vietnam War, Black soldiers created the gesture as a sign of “Dignity and Pride” — a way to show unity, respect, and survival in a system stacked against them.
Every time we give a dap today, we’re echoing a legacy of solidarity, resilience, and Black excellence that began on the battlefield. 💪🏾
