Caesars Palace Times Square and Roc Nation have teamed up with actor and activist Wendell Pierce to launch a $10 million fund aimed at preserving and revitalizing New York’s historic theaters of color—pending approval of a gaming license.
This initiative, called the New York Coalition of Legacy Theatres of Color Fund, dubbed the CLTC, will directly invest in iconic institutions like the Billie Holiday Theatre and The Negro Ensemble Company, addressing long-standing funding disparities while boosting their cultural visibility.
🎭 In addition to funding, selected recipients will also gain access to:
– Childcare and rental support
– Debt relief resources
– Exclusive job fairs and employment opportunities
The fund will be overseen by a diverse board of arts leaders and is open to private donations.
