Megan Thee Stallion’s Pete & Thomas Foundation is teaming up with the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium for another cycle of the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge, supporting young people turning their ideas into community impact.
The 2026 initiative awarded 100 micro-grants of $550 each to eligible Black girls, young women, femme-identifying youth and other marginalized youth ages 13–24 across 13 Southern states.
Participants proposed projects designed to spread joy and strengthen their communities, with ideas ranging from healing circles and wellness programs to murals, creative projects and community fitness events. Winners are expected to complete their projects within one month of receiving the funds.
The partnership builds on previous Black Girl Joy Challenge cycles that have supported projects addressing mental health, period poverty, STEM and robotics, community wellness and neighborhood improvement.
It’s another example of what can happen when young people’s ideas are backed with resources, trust and an opportunity to lead.
