On July 31st, iconic singer and cultural figure @MsLaurynHill made her first-ever visit to Benin, where she was warmly welcomed by locals and officials alike. Her visit included a stop at the Amazon Monument—Africa’s second-largest statue and a symbol of strength, resistance, and heritage.
The historic moment aligned with Benin’s Independence Day and was marked by emotional connection and cultural celebration. According to attendees, Hill’s presence was felt deeply by the crowd, many of whom see her as a living legend whose music and message resonate across generations.
Organizers extended gratitude to President Patrice Talon for his continued support of initiatives that uplift Afro-descendants globally.
