Adriana Smith, 31, has finally been laid to rest — months after being kept on life support while brain-dead due to a state abortion ban.
Adriana collapsed and was declared brain-dead just two months into her pregnancy. But because of restrictive abortion laws, she was kept on life support for nearly four more months so her unborn child could be delivered.
Her baby, a boy named Chance, was born via C-section at 28 weeks. Before removing life support, Adriana’s family made sure her young son had one final moment with her.
After being treated more like an incubator than a person, she has finally received the dignity of rest, honored with a funeral and remembered for more than just the circumstances of her death.
