“You’re Not Our King!” Indigenous Australian Politician Heckles King Charles In Parliament, Demanding”Give Us Our Land Back.”

“You’re Not Our King!” … Give Us Our Land Back!” During King Charles III’s address at Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra, Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe, an Indigenous Australian, interrupted the proceedings.

@senatorthorpe shouted, “This is not your land. You are not my king,” and accused the monarchy of historical injustices against Indigenous Australians, including genocide and land theft. She also demanded a treaty and the return of ancestral lands .

The outburst, which took place on October 21, 2024, garnered significant media attention and sparked discussions on Indigenous rights and Australia’s colonial history . Yet, when the so-called “King” Charles visited Kenya between October 31 and November 3, 2023, no Kenyan politician said a word about land or reparations for the Mau Mau. Why is that? 🤔
