New York City Sues YouTube, TikTok, And Meta For Creating A “Mental Health Crisis”

BREAKING: New York City is officially suing Meta (Instagram/Facebook), TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat, claiming they’ve fueled a youth mental health crisis through addictive design and algorithmic manipulation.

According to the city’s lawsuit, these platforms have:
⚖️ Created a “public nuisance” by harming children’s mental health
📱 Engineered features that keep users hooked for hours
🧠 Contributed to rising rates of depression, anxiety, and self-harm among teens

NYC’s Department of Education, Health + Hospitals, and the city itself are all plaintiffs in the case — seeking accountability for what they call a “youth mental health emergency.”
The companies deny wrongdoing, claiming social media helps people connect and express themselves.

👉🏽 Do you think social media is to blame for the mental health crisis — or is it deeper than that?
