Aaliyah Alicia Thompson, founder of Aaliyah’s Beauty Bar, is working alongside twin sisters Anajiah and Aniah Byrd to build an inclusive path into the world of natural hair and beauty.
Based in the Atlanta metropolitan area, their work focuses on natural hair services, including locs, retwists and extensions, while also expanding opportunities for aspiring beauty professionals.
Beyond the salon chair, Aaliyah has built beauty education programs designed to provide hands-on training and create opportunities for people on the autism spectrum. Reports have also highlighted her initiative to offer scholarships to autistic students pursuing hairstyling skills.
