Morris Brown College Welcomes Former Job Corps Students

Following the Department of Labor’s announcement of a phased pause in operations at contractor‑run Job Corps centers—currently blocked by a federal restraining order through at least June 30, 2025—Morris Brown College is warmly inviting affected students to continue their education there. 💜📚

President Dr. Kevin James, who served as a Job Corps instructor over 20 years ago, has personally reached out to students with a GED or high school diploma, encouraging them to apply and “find a new academic home” at the historic HBCU.

“The situation at Job Corps touched me intimately,” Morris Brown College President Dr. Kevin James told Channel 2’s Audrey Washington. “My first job out of college was teaching at Job Corps. I have first-hand experience of how important Job Corps is.”

Thanks to full accreditation regained on April 26, 2022, Morris Brown is fully eligible for federal financial aid and Title IV programs.

Additionally, the college has counselors on standby to support academic advising and mental‑health needs, all designed to help displaced Job Corps students find their footing and stay on track toward graduation.
