In China’s Hubei Province, the Shiziguan Floating Bridge allows vehicles to drive directly across a river, gliding over turquoise waters instead of spanning above them. Opened in 2016, the 500-meter pontoon bridge rests on specially designed floating platforms, engineered to remain stable even as the river moves beneath it.
