African Man Lives 55 Years in Isolation Because of His Fear of Women

A story that reminds us how deeply untreated trauma can shape — and isolate — a life. 💔

For 55 years, Callixte Nzamwita has lived completely alone in rural Rwanda due to an extreme fear of women (gynophobia), building a fence around his home at just 16 and cutting off all contact to avoid panic and anxiety.

Neighbors leave him food and water from a distance, hoping to support him in the only way he’ll accept. His story sheds light on the importance of mental health awareness, compassion, and the silent battles many endure behind closed doors.

A reminder: kindness matters more than we think. 🕊️
