GHANA Grants Citizenship To Individuals of African Descent From The United Staes and the Caribbean

Last month Ghana welcomed the most new citizens in its history thanks to a campaign asking Black Americans to “come home.” The west African country granted citizenship to 524 individuals of African descent from the United States and the Caribbean.

This significant event is part of Ghana’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the African diaspora, following initiatives like the “Year of Return” in 2019 and the “Beyond the Return” program.
