Malia Wakesho-Ajwang Is Using AI to Make College Work More Manageable for Students With ADHD

Malia Wakesho-Ajwang, a computer science and psychology student at Emory University, is turning her own experience with ADHD into a technology solution for other students.

She created asoma, an AI-powered productivity platform that helps students manage overwhelming academic workloads. The platform can pull in assignments, narrow them down to three priority tasks and use AI to break larger assignments into smaller, manageable steps.

Wakesho-Ajwang began developing the idea after being diagnosed with ADHD during her sophomore year and realizing that traditional productivity tools did not address the challenges she was experiencing.

Her work has already gained recognition at Emory. Asoma won first place in the undergraduate track at the university’s 2026 Entrepreneurship Summit.

The platform is currently being tested with students, with the goal of helping more young people move from feeling overwhelmed to actually getting started.
