25-Year-Old Builds A Multimillion-Dollar Caribbean Food Empire From His Parents’ Kitchen

My name is Chef Ky — I’m a 25-year-old Black entrepreneur, proud NC A&T alum, and the founder of Vybez Kitchen, a Caribbean takeout restaurant I started from my parents’ house with nothing but faith, hustle, and a burner on the stove. I had no restaurant experience, just a dream and a determination to change my life — and now, we’ve grown into a multimillion-dollar brand with a brick-and-mortar location in Greensboro, NC.

I started Vybez Kitchen because I knew I was meant for more. I’ve cooked through grief, setbacks, burnout, and doubt — but I kept going. From pop-ups in 95° heat to feeding J. Cole’s family at Dreamville Festival, selling out with 30+ people still in line, and now publishing not just one, but TWO books — a cookbook and my storybook, Zero to Millions: Building Vybez Kitchen From Nothing — I’ve been blessed to watch God work through my grind.

Vybez Kitchen is more than food — it’s a movement. A reminder that you can build something powerful from scratch, that your pain can turn into purpose, and that community and culture always come first.

We now offer catering, private dinners, and one-on-one coaching for aspiring food entrepreneurs.

Whether you’re planning an event or just in town for the weekend — pull up to Vybez Kitchen in Greensboro and Feel Da Vybez.
