Target Reportedly Lost Nearly $1 Billion After Boycott & DEI Rollbacks

Forbes reports that Target lost nearly $1 BILLION in sales last quarter—and the fallout isn’t over. February was even worse. Why? Because Black consumers took action after Target quietly distanced itself from its commitments to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In response, community leaders called for an economic boycott during Black History Month, and the impact was undeniable.

Then came the Feb. 28 “Economic Blackout”—stores were empty, online traffic slowed, and the numbers spoke for themselves: $960 million in lost sales, profits down over 20%. That’s not coincidence. That’s power in motion.

Let this be a reminder: Our money talks. Our power is in our pockets. As we continue this 40-day boycott, let’s stay intentional.

If you must shop at Target, support Black vendors, Black-owned brands, and products that reflect us. But more importantly, let’s keep this momentum going.
