Tanzania Bans U.S. Dollar in Local Transactions to Strengthen National Currency

Tanzania has officially banned the use of foreign currencies, including the US dollar, for local transactions. This means that all goods and services within the country must be priced and paid for exclusively in Tanzanian Shillings.

Like many African nations, it had relied on the U.S. dollar for its stability and global acceptance.
