During a press conference today, #DonaldTrump cited diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a possible cause of the deadly #AmericanAirlines plane crash last night. He also shifted blamed #JoeBiden and #BarackObama, accusing them of prioritizing DEI practices instead of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety.
Just 9 days ago, on Trump’s second day in office, he fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Coast Guard before their terms were up and eliminated all members of a key aviation security advisory group.
The FAA director also resigned on the day of Trump’s inauguration because of pressure from #ElonMusk. There was no acting FAA director at the time of the plane crash. Trump announced this morning he was appointing Christopher Rocheleau as an acting commissioner to the FAA.
