Accra just unveiled one of its most exciting new spaces — and it’s more than just a tennis court. 🎾✨
Located in Osu, the Backyard Community Hub is a newly completed multi-use recreational center designed by DeRoche Projects, built on a compact urban plot and featuring the city’s first precast rammed-earth structure.
At the heart of the hub is a professional-grade clay tennis court, but the vision goes far beyond sport. The open, flexible architecture creates a space where learning, mentorship, community gathering, and recreation flow together seamlessly.
A 230-square-meter sustenance garden grows more than 20 edible and medicinal plants, while free lessons and youth programs make the hub accessible to local kids and aspiring athletes.
Accra is building spaces that empower — and this new court is a powerful example. 🇬🇭✨
