Buying Back the Block: Why Ownership Without Access Isn’t Enough 🏘️✊🏾

repost @theemoneyplug “Let’s talk about it.
“Buying back the block” was never supposed to look like Airbnbs on every corner and $19 smoothies in neighborhoods where kids STILL don’t have safe parks.
You flipped a house, congratulations. But did the people who already live there get pushed out while you flexed your equity on Instagram?

You opened a storefront, great. But are your prices and vibe for the culture, or for the cameras?

True community wealth isn’t just ownership. It’s access. It’s accountability. It’s making sure your people don’t just watch you rise, they rise with you.

So no, I’m not clapping for every “Black-owned” ribbon cutting if the only thing Black about it is the logo and the founder.-

Buy back the block, yeah, but do it with intention or stop calling it that.
