🥹 Wow! A life sized wax figure of Nipsey Hussle was unveiled Saturday at Invest Fest in Atlanta by a contestant competing in the $100K pitch competition. “My business needs this $100K because our history matters. In the Black community representation matters, and what better way to show representation and honor but through memorializing legends who have paved the way…”
The contestant, Sharmir ”Mr. Official” Oglesby, a former school teacher from Ohio, pitched the concept of 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐈-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 that includes the use of VR technology. The thunderous applause shook the room as he unveiled the realistic Neighborhood Nip wax figure to a panel of judges including The Marathon’s Blacc Sam, Jorge Peniche, Adam Asghedom and EYL’s co-founders and co-CEOs Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings.
“These funds can create a world through which black culture and black history remains alive until the end of time. The cultural wax museum whether it be mobile, or a permanent location will be a one of a kind must see experience. Can you imagine an immersive and cultural relatable exhibition?”
Although he didn’t win 1st place, Mr. Officials says he’s grateful for the experience and was contacted by other investors immediately after leaving the stage.
The marathon continues 🏁💙
