In a narrow vote of 51-50, the Senate passed Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” that cuts $900 BILLION in Medicaid and $186 billion in SNAP food assistance while giving significant tax cuts to the rich. Republican senators Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, and Rand Paul voted alongside Democrats to oppose the bill.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill would add at least $3.3 trillion to the national debt in a decade.
The bill will go back to the House again before being signed into law, so Democrats will try to give it one last fight ☕️
