“Any U.S. citizen caught without a fully approved visa will be classified as an ‘illegal alien’ and deported—just as former President Donald Trump treated African immigrants in the United States.” President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah 🇳🇦
Namibia has announced a significant shift in its immigration enforcement strategy, revealing plans to deport over 500 American nationals found residing in the country without valid visas. In a statement from President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the move was framed as a step toward achieving reciprocity in visa policies between Namibia and the United States.
The President emphasized that if African citizens are required to obtain visas to enter the U.S., then American citizens should be held to the same standard when visiting Namibia.
Individuals identified for deportation are those who have either overstayed their visas or entered the country without adhering to proper immigration protocols. Namibian immigration authorities have already initiated the process of issuing deportation notices to the affected individuals.
