While many are still waiting for Harriet Tubman to appear on the $20 bill, Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina has a different proposal: a new $250 bill featuring none other than Donald J. Trump. Yes, you read that right.
Wilson recently took to X to share his plan, stating, “Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump.” He attributed the need for the bill to rising economic challenges, adding, “Bidenflation has destroyed the economy, forcing American families to carry more cash. Most valuable bill for most valuable President!”
While the idea may seem far-fetched, Wilson appears committed. In an email via his communications director, he explained, “This proposal represents America’s 250th anniversary next year and honors the President working to address the economic crisis caused by Bidenflation.”
The Harriet Tubman $20 bill, originally proposed in 2016, is now scheduled to debut to the public in 2030.
