Nike Set To Leave The S&P 100 After 18 Years As Its Stock Faces A Major Decline

Nike is set to be removed from the S&P 100 on September 21, 2026, ending nearly 18 years in the index.

S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that Palo Alto Networks will replace Nike as part of its quarterly index rebalance.

The move comes after a major decline in Nike’s stock. Shares have fallen roughly 78% from their 2021 record, with the stock closing at $35.78 on September 16.

Despite leaving the S&P 100, Nike will remain part of the S&P 500.

The change marks a significant moment for one of the world’s most recognizable sportswear companies as it works through declining sales, increased competition and a broader turnaround effort.
